Vic: Opposition attacks govt on escapee
MELBOURNE, Jan 11 AAP - The Victorian government had done nothing to tighten up securitysurrounding prisoners on day release, the state opposition said today.
Opposition corrections spokesman Kim Wells said last year the government promised toreview day release for prisoners after police killer Robert John Nowell visited a golfcourse while on day leave from Langi Kal Kal Prison in the state's west, when he shouldhave been attending a TAFE course.
