Moura M. Surprise McCarthy, 69, of East Street died Friday in Albany Memorial Hospital after being stricken in her residence.
She was born in Utica and lived most of her life in Rensselaer.
Mrs. McCarthy was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. John's Church and a past president of the ladies auxiliary.
She was an active member of the Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club board of directors, past president of the Fort Crailo PTA, a member of the New York state PTA, past president of the Altar Rosary Society of St. John's Church, and a life member and past president of the ladies auxiliary of the J.N. Ring Fire Co.
